I have been to the Church, met Marilyn Hickey, who was the big star--a female preacher when it was rare. She was very nice and pleasant, and very attractive. The food was good, my only reason to go to church---free food
Ah, but even her charm and the buffet did not convert me.

This post is interesting. I grew up in New York and everybody was Catholic, at least I thought. I cannot even remember seeing a protestant church in my town, of over 100,000. Most people where from Polish and Italian descent. The Catholic Church was the center of my universe; I went to the grade school; all the social events were at the church. Went to mass, every school day and Sundays, Holy Days, Evening Services, Novenas etc.
At that time you had to fast 12 hours before communion and it was changed to 3 hours. Now I know with all that fasting--made me fat, because I ate more, when I could get it. All the kneeling caused my knees to go arthritic and all those churches services and the nuns,made me an atheist.
But I did notice that people did not talk to each other, just prayed and left, sometimes even before the mass was done. I remember there where three parts of the mass that you had to see and once that was done, your obligation was fulfilled and people ran from the church and got in their car and sped away. That was before the Second Vatican Council with Pope John XXIII, now that was a pope that I may have accepted--fat and kind.
So, what you are saying it is still the same unfriendly place
I also been to Thomas Moore--years ago they had their own restaurant--food, anywhere, attracts me.
When I did not have the fear of hell, anymore, I went to some protestant churches and I was very surprised by how friendly it was. But by that time, I was older, read to much, was much more experienced and was not longer susceptible to any christian dogma. If I was a born protestant maybe, I would have been a christian, thin and with no arthritis.

Check out Pathways Church in Denver. It's a bit too far away from you in Lone Tree, but if you're willling to check , they meet at several locations, including a GORGEOUS restored synogogue in Uptown with Moorish Architecture called the Temple Events Center on 16th & Pearl. (Yes, you have a Christian church meeting in a historic synagogue building which is built in an Arabic Moorish architecture). In kind of an odd twist, they actually have multiple locations, including one slightly more convenient to you at South High near Wash Park, probably the one you should check out.

Pathway meets also at South High--closer for this guy. How do I know that???? Well, there was some food involved. I got invited to meeting of something of this or that, somebody preaching something--I was too busy chewing.
