Last year my family and I moved from New Orleans. We used North American Van Lines and they moved our entire house, they even had to put some of our stuff in a rented storage garage. We also moved a Honda Accord. I talked to some online co, but in the end, I went with North American. They subcontracted it out but I found them to be very responsible. In fact the driver called us from TX and said while they were loading other cars on the carrier, one accidentally hit my bumper. A full report was filled out and they compensated me for the "scratch". Honestly, I couldn't even see it. I found this to be very responsible, it could easily of been brushed aside. I know local people in New Orleans loaded and locals here in CO unloaded us. So I guess it depends upon your local company but our experience was relatively pleasant.

I, too, am moving from the SF area (Walnut Creek) to Denver. It's a corporat e move so I do not have to pay but I was told that to move a car is $1200. This would be on a car carrier separate from moving household belongings.
Hope this helps.

Why don't you want to give the movers your phone number? They simply want to contact you so that they can give you an estimate. If you are in fact moving, then you'll need that information to make an informed choice about which company to hire. What's the big deal?
