Planting and growing is tough in Denver. We can get freezing temps up until May 20th. So spring is hit and miss. Chicago's last frost date is April 25th, compared to Denver which is May 20th, and almost 1 month later. Shoot, Fargo North Dakota's last freeze date is only 5 days later than Denver's.

Last average frost in Denver is May 10th...but anything can happen...I saw it snow here in Denver on June 4th when I was a kid (no one believes me ,but it did no joke.) Typically it's pretty easy to garden here though if you wait and plant around the 15th of May..hardly ever frosts before Sept. 20th, and in the extremely remote chance it does cover the plants...it warms right back up to summer conditions.

Yep - that is how my hycinth (sp?) look.

I think my tulips will be okay, they haven't bloomed yet.
