Yeah, I work in that dump! It's on 84th. Northglenn was 104th, but is now whatever it's called - town center shops of Northglenn, I don't know.

I know what you mean... when I first moved to San Francisco around 1990 i used to go wandering around the city, checking stuff out as I like to do. So one evening i was walking around Polk or some street, not in the tenderloin but probably a couple blocks north of Geary and I glance into a bar/club and i see all these beautiful girls... and I mean beautiful/georgeous model looking types.

So I think this is the place for me... and i go inside and order a drink and am sitting at the bar congratulating myself on my decision to move to SF and having the foresight to walk down this street and into this bar. As my eyes start adjusting to the light in the bar however I see 1) that the beautiful girls all seem to have an extraordinary amount of makeup on and 2) They were walking in and out of both the mens and ladies restrooms at will. So I began to realize that this was in fact not the place for me (not that there's anything wrong with that). But since I already had my drink I stayed for awhile and watched a couple of the singers... quite entertaining.

History has a way of repeating itself and it will get cleaned up, actions of ill repute will go elsewhere, then return when nobody is looking.
The city planners from Denver should really study what NYC did with Bryant Park... an amazing transformation there. There really needs to be more activities in Civic Center park... I think there was a vote to allow some type of commercial enterprises to open up there or something and it was voted down unfortunately... there needs to be more reasons for average everyday people to go there in order for it to turnaround and stay that way.

I had a friend in the Army who dated this gal who turned out to be a guy;he drank a lot...LOL..The strange part of the story is that I saw that transvestite or what ever you want to call him later on 9news getting arrested in Colorado Springs for impersonating a high school cheerleader..I don't have any idea what that has to do with hookers on 104th..

It is just a matter of time before a change occurs. In 2006, Libeskind (architect for DAM) did some renderings connecting the bus station at Colfax and Broadway to Civic Center Park via a large pedestrian bridge. He then redid much of the park with water features and vendor structures. However, several groups shot it down due to the significant alterations that would occur to the historic (Denver's oldest) park.
DenverInfill Blog: Bold Vision for Denver's Civic Center

Another thought as of recent was to relocate the Colorado History Museum underground in the park, entry would be the old Carnigie Library in the northwest corner of the park.
DenverInfill Blog: Colorado History Museum: New Home in Denver's Civic Center Park?

Of course if you are going to try all this in today's economy, it is going to be an uphill effort. Hence, the recent rash of drug deals and hoochie momma appearances in the park.

They have enough to deal with with all the labels like Cub, Twink, Bear, Otter, etc.

Total "Crying Game" visuals, and I bet you remind him of the whole incident on select occassions?

Aaarrghh, city data needs to write better hyper text and url codes to go with internal digits, rather than put the word "hooker" on the URL itself.

My colleagues in the system admin group now think I'm looking up hookers online

Very strange accusation, I have lived in this area for 6 years now, and travel 104th from Colorado to 92'nd daily and nightly, and I have NEVER seen anything like what the OP has posted. The area along there has been cleaned up quite a bit in recent years, the Northglenn Mall area has been redeveloped, and the area off 104th and I-25 is slowly being redone. There are quite a few vacant buildings, but they have not been empty that long. as you move to 104th and Irma, there is a brand spanking new apartment complex with a super K-Mart (which is indeed a dump) next door. 104th and Colorado is one of the nicest areas of Northglenn, with a full shopping center to the south, new construction shopping to the north and east. If there truly is "working girls" on the streets, they picked an absolutely horrible place to try to do business.

Ummm... I think I would yelp. Not that there's anything wrong with that! She was looking in marvelous shape btw and kinda pretty. My wife says that she has gaydar and claims that an unusual amount of them pay me special attention if you know what I mean. That's cool! Sorry for being so good looking and charming! This dude who goes to meetings with us in Pueblo comes to me and asks, "So, are you sure you're not gay?" I look down at my ring and say, "Yup, pretty sure. My wife is the jealous type too, you know?" Then I tell him I once bought this tight white tee-shirt that's got the rainbow circle and triange that the 12-Step program used to use to symbolize recovery until they lost the TM in about 1992, and used to wear it until I got too fat, and he said again, "So, are you sure you're not gay!??!" And I said, "No, I'm not, but if that ever changes, you'll be the first one to know!"

Used to live in the Carriage Hills Apts and the apts over by Water World over in Federal Heights and go to the Party Place over there. That was my old stompin' grounds until we moved over by Sundstrand in Westy.
