I don't think Denver is the worst area for allergies. It will depend on what you're allergic too however. Are you allergic to cottonwoods? There are lots of cottonwoods around and it's very common to see the stuff just floating around sometimes. Denver is not on the Forbes Top 25 worst cities for allergies list but it may also depend on the year.
I personally am allergic to grass and have some problems in April/May but it's nothing claritin won't clear up and it's not a debilitating, everyday thing.
