Default Single and moving to Denver

Hi! I am a single woman in her mid 30's looking to move to the Denver area. I grew up in San Diego and just recently moved to the east coast (Pennsylvania) in hopes of heading back to college full time, have only been here 7 months. Unfortunately, the program I was looking into will be phased out and so now I am looking for a new home. Denver is top of my list! I am extremely active, snowboard, work out, run, hike, camp etc....and believe Denver will be a great fit. I am looking for any advice regarding areas of town to live that are safe and hopefully within walking distance of shops and cafes. I am on a budget now a days since i will be a full time student and only working part time, so I am hoping to stay in the $500 to $600 (cheaper if I can) range for rent, whether that be rent in my own apartment or sharing with someone..any advice on areas that may be up my alley would be appreciated. Also, how is the single scene in Denver? I am not looking to hang out in nightclubs or bars...I am past that point...simply looking for great areas of town (great restaurants/wine bars/good music scene) where someone in their mid 30s or older may want to hang. Is Denver as fit of a city as they say? Again, I am very active....work out about 5 days a week...6 if I can....so staying in shape and meeting people with that same viewpoint is important. Is this the right city for me? Also, if anyone can recommend a great Christian Church (non-denom) that would be great! Thank you so much for your help!

You might strongly consider the Platte Park or DU area, there tends to be a pretty solid mix of families, young professionals,students... They have just recently started a non-denominational church that actually meets on the University Of Denver campus, and there is another one located blocks away on south High street. Washington Park which is a mecca for bikers, joggers, volleyball ect. is located a short distance to the north of these areas..Of course you could consider renting in Wash Park area itself, it would be a great fit for what you are asking for as well..More than likely you will want to find a suitable roommate situation with your desired budget. Denver really is one of the fittest cities; you will find like minded athletic ,outdoorsy individuals pretty easily here. all these areas will have neighborhood cafe's, restaurants, other services within reach..Good luck..

Sounds like you will enjoy the Colorado Front Range based on your fit lifestyle. You might want to look at homeowners who are willing to rent out a separate entrance living area - there were quite a few of those in Atlanta back when I was in school. Go to the local college campus to find ads on sharing a home or apartment for rent.
