The $1 million home, an article from The Denver Post, uncovers what $1 million buys in today's real estate market. For starters, it gets you more square footage than a year ago. The average home sold for over $1 million increased in size from 4,415 square feet to 5,169 between years 2005 and 2006. And the price per square foot dropped from $379 to $321.

The differences may be due in part to more new, larger million-dollar homes hitting the market. According to Metrolist, there are nearly 40 homes currently on the market in metro Denver that are priced between $950,000 and $1 million. The article provides details on several million dollar homes, including ones on: W. 73rd Ave in Arvada; S. Corona St. in Denver; 530 Fairfax St. in Denver; Rocky Point Ln. in Morrison; and Marion St. in Denver.

hmm
Our old house is less than a mile away from the Marion St address.
But what that description does not mention is that Marion is a block off Downing, which is a fairly busy one way street.
It certainly is nice to get a bit more room for a million dollars, though.
I remember when it was a big deal that homes were going for $200 a square foot.
