Exclamation !!Builder put in wrong hardwood floors!!!

I am having a home built and builder put in HW floors this week. Well he put in the wrong HW flooring. My wife and I went to the design center about two weeks ago and picked out a pre-finished 5in Brazilian Cherry HW floor w/ micro beveled edges. Well the builder installed an un-finished, I think Brazilian Cherrry, 5in HW floor and have already sanded it once but no stain yet ( I have no idea what finished product will look like). Which is better or is it personal choice? We , I mean the builder, paid for pre-finished 5in Brazilian Cherry HW floor w/ micro beveled edges but the installed the other type. What, if any, is appropriate compensation or should they rip 'em up and install what we ordered. This is our first home so all responses are appreciated

either be compensated for the error or install what you ordered.

Personally, I prefer the solid cherry as compared to the laminated one you picked out. It's acutally more expensive, I believe. The solid can be refinished many times as compared to the laminated one you chose. I would try and work out some kind of compensation or adjustment with the builder. Maybe work something out where the builder stains it (or some portion of the floor) and then you can see if you like it. I will tell you from my experience showing homes to buyers, most don't care for the micro beveled edge look, so that may affect you on resale. Bottom line is, it's your home and you should get what you ordered. Even if you elect to keep what the builder installed by mistake, I would still go for some type of adjustment.
