Default furnished temp apt in Westminster/Broomfield/Thornton

Hello - for several weeks I've been looking on Craigslist for a furnished apartment to rent on a short term basis, and it seems that 90% or more are downtown, or south or west of downtown.

I've found surprisingly few in the areas we'd like to be in...Broomfield, Westminster, Northglenn or Thornton (I've posted before - my husband will be working in Longmont and we'd like fairly easy access to I-25)

So if anyone reading this has a place to rent.... : )

I've already tried the corporate housing websites; (way out of our price range--need something around $1,000/month).

Extended Stay America, Crosslands Motel and the Savannah Suites are options...anyone ever stay there? They are in Westminster & Thornton...but again the nicer ones (Homestead, Estended Stay Deluxe) are all south of downtown.

I've also tried Apartment Finders, but I'd prefer dealing with an individual rather than a complex.

That said, we do have a good lead on taking over someone's last couple of months of a lease (with furnishings!) at a Westminster complex called The Vintage at Hyland Hills. But an apartment review site had dozens of very bad reviews on that place! Any reviews here?

Finally, any thoughts on the character of those north suburbs would be appreciated. I have read about Westminster recently on this site...any thoughts/preferences on Broomfield, Thornton or Northglenn?

Looking forward to leaving humidity and hurricanes behind! Three weeks until we arrive!
thanks -

I would like to see the same answers to these questions. I am relocating in December and have the same questions as piper324. By the way piper324, are you coming from Florida? It sounds like it and thats where we are coming from also (Lake Mary). Thx...

Try corporatehousingbyowner dot com. There are some ridiculous rates on there but also some reasonable ones. Do keep in mind that the rate includes everything from silverwear, towels, cleaning supplies, to cable/ internet. When you factor in the "temp" factor and that you don't have to bother with turning on the phone, electric, gas, water, cable, internet etc-- I think 1200 would be the cheapest. Also Ave West Corporate Housing is an excellent corportate housing company. We used them for 8 months-- my husband was here while the kids and I were finishing out school/selling the house. They are very customer oriented and very responsive. We were very happy we chose that over an extended stay type of place for him.

Just curious, if this is supposed to be short term, why does it matter if it's a complex? I understand for long-term renting it's easier to deal with a private landlord, but for a few months, it may be easier to find a complex that will meet your needs.
