Default College Student Moving To Denver - Need Advice

I am planning to move to Denver in July. I will be moving there to attend the Metro State College of Denver. I am 24 year old female & single. Looking for the best location that is close to the college & a reasonable safe area. Any suggestions? I will have my car as well, so transportation isn't too much of any issue. But If I could use other ways of transportation to school that would help.

I currently live in California and have my whole life. So I am ready for a change. Looking for a 1 bedroom apartment. Fairly reasonabe price. Any suggestions?

I am from the bay area and found many low priced places in Denver. A cheap downtown studio will run you 450-550, a cheap one bedroom 500-650. The sqaure footage seems to be roughly equal to the cost. Try craigslist you can find cheap places all day long here compared to the bay area or anywhere else in northcal.

Yeah, I second that, define "fairly reasonable"

Anyway, here's some useful information for a 1 bedroom apartment seeker, lol. It's crazily true around here. If you pick a long term apt, you'd do good. Short term stints can be expensive.

Smile Metro. State College of Denver - Apartment??

I am 25 years old & will be attending MSCD in August. I am looking to move to Washington Park or Englewood. Are these good locations? Does anyone have any suggestions of nice apartments in the area? I am looking to spend no more than $500. Studio or 1 bedroom apartment, just to start off. Thanks!

The phrase good location is quite relative. Wash Park IMO is awesome, if I was in your shoes I'd go with LoDo if you can afford it or get roomate to lower cost. You may want to eye west side of Wash Park closer to I-25 and the train.

Default Try calling the police dept for a crime analysis

Try this number: 720-913-6316

Tell them you're moving here and ask what crime analysis info they can give you on various neighborhoods.

Also, if you have a favorite sport/hobby, try posting to various Yahoo groups, Google groups, or MeetUp.com Something like "Hey, any fellow Rock Climbers have a room to rent?"

Good luck,
Dennis

Post Apartment in Capitol Hill/Washington Park/Highland - Reccomendations

I have been reviewing previous posts to get different ideas on where to live in Colorado. I have narrowed it down to Capitol Hill, Washington Park or Highland area. Does anyone have any recommendations on an apartment complex or studio to live at? I would prefer a 1 bedroom, but I think it's hard to find something decent for no more than $500. I am a college student so I am just looking for something simple nothing fancy. Any ideas or recommendations for that price range? Your response is greatly appreciated.

Try a roommate. It's doable in a 1 BR.
