Glendale is not known for it's residential area/services.

I'm staying in Glendale right now.
It's commerical buildings, motels, strip bars, and lower priced apartment complexes. Very few homes.
I think most of the area south of Mississippi is in Denver.

Its claim to fame is being a thorn in the side of the city of Denver by allowing the strip clubs and similar adult establishments that Denver has sought to regulate over the years.

affordibility near glendale
I will possibly be taking a job in the Glendale area and I was wondering what area around there to look for the most affordable rent. I would prefer to rent a house, but an apartment or townhouse would do as well. The key word here is 'affordable'. Anything else I can deal with, but I will have a low income to work with. Anything is helpful.

please define affordable. Glendale is surrounded on four sides by Denver. Glendale has 5000+ residents

The neighborhoods to the east and southeast of Glendale are pretty affordable (depending on your definition of affordable). They are filled by small ranch style homes and some townhomes (if you need even cheaper). Anything to the west or north can be pretty expensive.

For a small house or a two bed one bath apartment is doable.

There are a lot of townhomes in the area just north of Cherry Creek Drive on either side of Monaco Pkwy. You could probably find something in your price range there. Some of the stuff is kind of run down but they are decent and relatively safe.
