Movies in the Park presents: Mile High Movies in Skyline Park

So you've snagged a few friends for happy hour and dinner, and now you're looking for a place to stretch out under the stars? Perhaps you're taking the kids to see the sights downtown and want to cap the evening off with one final treat? Check out Mile High Movies in Skyline Park! All movies begin at dusk behind the historic D & F Clocktower on 16th and Arapahoe.

New in 2009, the Denver Theatre District will provide live entertainment before and after each movie, so come early and plan to stay late! This series is in cooperation with Denver Parks and Recreation and the Denver Theatre District. In addition, the Corner Bakery Cafe & the Palm Restaurant*, which are both right on the park, will be having special deals on dinner, snacks and so much more! Come early to pick something up!! (*limited patio seating in full view of the movie screen, call for reservations - 303.825.7256).

Default Mid-July Events

OK...we're coming to Denver for three days in July (after swinging through Grand Junction for a friend's wedding.) and will be staying right downtown across from the DCPA. (July 12-15th)...anyone know of any good events going on during that time in downtown Denver? The cheaper the better, but if it's something that's really not to miss we may drop some coin It's a tricky batch of days being a Sunday through Wednesday, but I figured it never hurts to ask the natives.

Would also be interested in events (or just things to see and do) in Highland, Capitol Hill, City Park and some of the other surrounding neighborhoods, but we're hoping to do a fair amount of walking rather than driving. If there are events in nearby neighborhoods, anyone know a good place to rent a couple bikes? Also, I know the light rail is not real extensive right now, but if there's anything worth seeing other than neighborhoods, etc, south in Englewood, etc...would be interested to know.

I'm obsessively well studied on locations in Denver, but just want to know what other people find to be great points of interest and events in the Summer.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Zenkonami,

I like a couple of calendars, one on this website http://www.5280.com/ and the other on www.westword.com for future planning. There is a Christian Goods convention going on at the Convention Center while you are here and you can try out for American Idol if you are under 30! I prefer getting outside in the summer. You can easily walk to LoHi, or east Highlands but you will want a car for the west end. Capitol Hill is also large, but you can walk to the east end easily an dcheck out some of the mansions (Molly Brown's house), the State Capitol, the Bascillica. You will want a car for the east end where you will find the Botanical Gardens.

Outside of Denver, Roxborough Park/Red Rocks Ampitheater are cool to check out in a short day trip. For more of a drive, Estes Park/Rocky Mountain State Park/Trail Ridge Road is one of our gem full day trips.

What do you like, types of food, entertainments, sports, shows, shopping, people watching?

p.s. if you are up for meeting some of us, I can set up the July Happy Hour around your visit? Just let me know.
