Child custody and exchange
My brother shares 50/50 custody with the mother of their 3yr old. They exchange the child on fridays every week. There is currently a restaining order between the two, so the court decided the exchange take place at a vistation center. Also in the court orders is scheduled holidays for each parent. My brother was to have the child for Memorial day. The exchange was to take place on friday and the child would go with the mother, but it was my brothers holiday on that next Monday. The visitation center was notifed and they were closed on Sunday and Monday. Basically unless my brother was gonna drop the child off on Friday and pick up again on Saturday He would need to keep the child for his holiday. 1 person at the visitation center realized that and advised my brother to keep the child and do exchange on Tuesday. He did so. The Friday after Memorial Day would be his starting week again. The same person at the visitation center contacted him on Thursday and said there will be no further exchanges unless advised by the court. They said my brother purposely keep the child from the other parent. Now it has been 3 wks since he seen his child and the visitation center refuses his calls and when he does speak to someone its the Executive Director and she has made comments to him about being a bad dad and using the child as leverage and even saying she would make his life hell. She has even said to come in and they would talk about it and it was on a day she wasnt even at work. My brother has been wanting to go to the court and ask for another visitation place, but the Magistrate that handles the case is against him as well. During a court visit when asking the custody be modified, the mother of the child was caught in several lies and the judge gave her many chaces and was really harsh towards my brother. When the custody orders first came my brother did have an attorney. Due to financial hardship anyone in the immediate family is unable to afford an attorney. Sometimes I feel you get no justice without an attorney. You must have lots of money to have a relationship with your child. What can be done. Please help with anything. Thanks
