Huh? What questions did I avoid? I was just happy that my insight was so influential for you.
I thought my work was done here.

"But really, fear, ignorance, isn't this what I was talking about? I thought so, I meant to do so."
See the question mark? It really did seem like you were supporting what I was saying, when I thought you disagreed? oh well, I still like your post. :P

If I saw anyone following me or in a dark alley I would be more careful (unless they look over 90 or like they belong in a bubble), of course I mistrust general humanity
I think it's a good discussion, most certainly because it's been rational and no one has started the name calling you can see from such a charged topic. My own view is if I wouldn't want it done to me, I won't do it to anyone else...but I can't speak for anyone else.
I do kind of wish that there was a term for people who use race as a way to vilify the other person and put them on the defensive, where it doesn't belong (besides a jerk). My own example is I had a woman charge into my face calling me a racist because I hate Muslims, and saying that was why I accused her of hitting my wife's car. I didn't really put much merit in it because her bumper was embedded in our car, but that sort of thing really puts you on the defensive. She also tried it with the cop (who was Black) and the insurance investigator (who Latino), none of which got very far. If you want to dispute and accident, the last thing anyone should do is insult the impartial decision makers involved!
I've seen it in other instances where the if a person disagrees with the other, they get a accused...the "you just don't like me" kind of thing. it's like an ad hominem attack you can't really just brush off.

subsound: I agree w/ you there, about being careful in dark alleys. But someone else on this thread mentioned baggy pants and hoodies. I thought that was ridiculous. Personal knowledge tells me to stay away from men with money dressed in suits. haha, seriously.
I think what you are talking about is reverse discrimination. Meaning, if you are white and someone accuses you of it, then it's reverse? maybe not. But I get what you are saying. And thanks to .... ugh, won't go there, but due to our nation's stance, Muslims are the new thing to discriminate against. The flavor of the week. Don't worry, it'll change to some other poor group.
That last paragraph you had, it's totally lame. And I've seen it first hand. It's like a last ditch attempt to defend. But so uncalled for. I'd rather just say, I don't like you cuz you are you!

Oh, I just assumed that was a rhetorical question.
But you're right - no argument here.

So there, I'm satisfied. Until we meet again. Funny it took that long. Sorry. I love arguing.

Yeah - me, too. Good discussions all around, and I'm really glad we were able to solve this racism issue once and for all. Whew... so glad that ugly chapter is over with.
I'm going to search for a global warming thread to see if I can knock that one out as well.
Have a good one..

wow, what a mess you had to deal with! my sister is battling what she feels (somewhat justified) is racial lopsidedness. She is suing her landlord (white) for an unlawful eviction, she has a lawyer (white), she is worried about having a jury trial because she feels they will side with the white landlord. the area she's in (MI) is primarily black (a real ghetto, for that matter) and people there don't have much hope. So my sister is trying not to have a jury trial.
But, it's hard in many situations to keep race out of it, but unfortunately it won't happen anytime soon. I try to give everyone equal chance until they do something to me or treat me a certain way.
I wouldn't say I distrust humanity, I guess you can only do what feels right to you, I would also use caution if I were in a dark alley and ANYONE was there, but I would naturally try to avoid the dark alley in the first place! even a light alley! ugh!!

It might be, accusing the other person of being racist and being racist oneself...I like catchy names though Most of people who do that it really doesn't matter what the other person is, they want to bully them into doing what they want...and it's an effective way to do it. In one of the places I was working a lady accused her boss of being racist when she tried to let her go, they were the same gender and race. What made it worse is the company had to investigate, go through extra compliance, and a year later they fired her for the same things.

That sucks, it shouldn't be like that I hope she gets the verdict she is looking for, there is no reason to evict people for that. I have been in front of a couple judges before, and just my limited experience they have all been very nice, fair, and help when they feel justice isn't being served. I hope she gets punitive damages for it too.

Same here, it makes me really happy to hear sanity I guess I shouldn't say general humanity, but people I don't know, or how to gauge I am pretty wary of.
