I recentely stayed at The Sheraton in downtown denver off court place. Really nice & not expensive. But I got a flight & hotel package deal so that may have been why it was cheaper. But I definitely recommend that hotel.

Hotel out of downtown, but near public transit
I decided to plan my trip to Denver in October. I'll be arriving in Denver on October 8th, and departing on October 12th. I'm looking to stay under $100 a night.. I'd love to be around $80 a night.. There aren't many options in downtown Denver for the said prices, but I see all kinds of deals every where else..
I guess my goal is to be around $80 a night, and not need to rent a car. Can anyone give me any suggestions for hotels that meet my criteria?
In downtown for $80-$100 a night
-or-
A hotel that is just outside of downtown, but has easy downtown access...(bus, light rail, $5 taxi ride ETC)
Thank you!

The Tech center area has cheap hotels that are nice. I stayed right near the Orchard Road LRT station for $50/night. Just search near the tech center but type in the hotel address on google to make sure it's near a station.

You can try looking at hotels around Colorado Blvd and I-25 --- not sure of the price ranges, but Colorado Blvd has frequent buses that feed into the light rail station, so this area could work..

There are a few hotels by the Westminster Park and Ride, near Sheridan and 88th Ave (also near US Highway 36). Downtown is only a few minutes from the bus stop with buses running from early morning to early morning.

I'm surprised too that no enterprising website dude has done for Denver what these people did for the DC metro subway.
StationMasters is a privately run website that has interactive maps of all the stops on the DC Metro system. It will show you photographs of the areas around each station, the entrances, and all the nearby buildings. Marvelous. They also publish the same info in little booklets, so people can have them in their cars or briefcases when traveling around DC; we had one in each car and in our desk at work. Lets say you want to visit the White House, that would be the Farragut Square WEST station, so you click on that station name and up pops this graphic w/photo's. The red dots on the hotel names means you can click that and make a hotel reservation. Great use of technology.
