Default Cool house in Evergreen for under $300,000?

I'm living in Lodo and want to move to Evergreen. Are there any cool 50'-60's modern houses there that are under $300k? I've seen some interesting ones in Hiwan Hills that look sort of "unrestored" to put it nicely but none of them are on the market. I'm guessing they are still the original owners. It seems like there are a lot of good deals for around $350k even close to Hiwan Golf Club and some "cabins" under 200K but not much in between. I've looked at some interesting condos right on the golf course but I'd still prefer a house with enough space for a pool.

That price point is a bit low for evergreen. I would recommend you just check listing every day and jump the minute you see something. Are you set on Evergreen or are you just looking for a mountain feel?
You could always look in Morrison, Indian Hills or Conifer, or even Bailey if you don't mind being an extra 10 minutes out. Evergreen is pricey due to its proximity to I-70 and its "small town" feel.

If you are persistent, you will eventually find something.

Thanks for the post. I'm prefer either Evergreen or Lookout Mountain. Conifer and Bailey are too far southwest. Morrison and Indian Hills are possibilities but I doubt they have the kind of architecture I am looking for. The only place I've seen mid-century modern houses is in Evergreen/Lookout.

Evergreen is less of a bargaining chip then other foothill front range communities; days on market are longer, but price per square foot has stayed pretty strong there. Indian Hills is more older craftsmen/or new luxury builds..I don't know of any mid-century moderns in that area.

I know what you mean. I rented a place in Indian Hills when I first moved to Colorado. It's a beautiful area but there aren't any houses there I like. I'm not into the "rustic mountain" style. I considered building but it seems like just buying and prepping any land is at least $150,000 - $200,000 minimum. So you're talking at least 350-400K to build anything.
