Default Least Favorite Street

When I joined and started reading the archives, I came across a thread about people's favorite street sections. I'm curious to what people's least favorite stretches of road are. Please be specific - don't say Colfax, say Colfax near Sheridan or whatever (example only!) with both the location and the reason. May had an accident there or always busy when you go through. List more than one!

Mine is a highway section - I-25 from Hwy. 7 north to Hwy. 119. Absolute nightmare in my opinion. I'm not sure why it feels so bad. Always construction when I've been on it, left lane merging to the right north of Hwy. 7. I've never felt good driving along there.

Colorado Blvd between I-25 and Colfax. Horrid traffic. Super-wide. Nothing but strip malls and big box stores. Yuck!

I-70 has to be in the worst condition, particularly between the Brighton Blvd and Colorado Blvd. The viaduct appears to be held together by duct tape and little else. There's a grand plan to replace the entire structure, or possibly re-route I-70 slightly to the north, that hasn't gotten off the ground due to lack of funding. It also runs squarely through some of the more blighted parts of the city, which is likely another reason why so little has been done of it.

This is a tough one. I'd probably say Quebec St between Colfax and I-70. The area gets so congested during rush hour and it's not like there are pretty landscapes or anything great to look at while sitting in traffic.

Also, I don't care for the intersection of Quebec Way and Florida Avenue in my neighborhood. The layout of the intersection is weird and it's a 4-way stop, but people never seem to be able to figure out when it's their turn to go, so usually it's a free for all.

I agree with both of you. I had completely forgotten about those 2. Colorado Blvd. is horrible and so if the I-70 Viaduct.

How about Santa Fe/Kalamath at Alameda. It used to be they'd give Alameda a much, much longer light so traffic would back up blocks on the other 2 for no reason even though they had more traffic than Alameda.

The thing about Colorado Blvd. is it's jammed all the time, not just rush hour time. The worst stretch is from 6th Avenue to Evans.

I hate driving down Speer going towards 25 from Capitol Hill area. The lanes are too small and it feels like your sides are going to get scraped.

I'll second this one. I used to take Santa Fe to I25 to Speer to get home. I tried taking Santa Fe all the way to Speer a few times when I25 was backed up. The intersection at Santa Fe/Alameda takes forever to get through. One time I even caught the train passing through just north of Alameda during rush hour. That was an absolute nightmare and enough for me to just deal with the slowness of I25.

I second this (although Little Anita's has fantastic breakfast burritos and green chili)
