LinkedIN Denverites
Hi forum. I'm thinking about relocating to the Denver area in 3 to 6 months from the Miami area (originally from the Caribbean) but I wanted to build some contacts in Denver before I make that move. I've heard LinkedIn is a valuable resource, so I'd like to branch out to willing members on city-data and make some connections (big or small).
Thanks in advance.

I joined LinkedIn not long ago (never used MySpace or Facebook), but as I understand it LinkedIn is pretty much for work-related networking. So, if that's what you're looking for, then yes, try to make connections there. If you're looking more for information about the area and some social connections, I'd recommend these forums here on City-Data. There's a wealth of friendly, helpful people on the boards!
Of course, if you're trying to find people here who you'd want to make work-related connections to on LinkedIn, you'll probably want to tell us what line of work you're in.

I currently freelance (computer repair) but--due to the market--I enrolled at Excelsior College and I'm now pursuing a undergrad degree in Accounting (I plan on taking the CPA in CO in 2010).

Yeah, probably because everyone is so professional on there! So far it's only helped me get one resume past the screener due to a connection being an HR recruiter at the company, but still no job at all. Not even an interview. I feel like submitting resumes is the same as flushing them down the toilet!

I understand how you feel denverian...4.5 months and not a single interview or phone call. Well, I did get one phone call from a recruiter about a job...in Idaho Falls, ID lol.
