Denver or Nashville? (Colorado Springs, Boulder: schools, income, place to live)

I am 22, a dancer, jazz, modern, contemporary. I'm a physical therapy/ exercise science major. I have been accepted into schools in both cities. I'm moving from Virginia Beach, VA. Which city would be the better choice?

I think the number of opportunities is commensurate with the size of the city and it's level of wealth, education, etc.

Check the data side of this website to see the various stats for each city.

Having visited Nashville a few times, I'd be certain that Denver is where you want to be, but best if you check the numbers.

Check your local library for a copy of Sperling's "Cities Ranked and Rated" as it tells you the income levels, arts/culture index, level of education and tons of other demographic gold about 400+ major cities.

You're gonna love Colorado.

You know that town doesn't even have a 24 hour NPR station? Quite a few American flags though.

I've actually lived in both. I personally prefer Denver, but Nashville is a nice city. People that call it "hicksville" are clueless.

Do you like "Southern culture" without it being too red-neckish? Nashville is a good choice. Do you like doing things outside in the summer? Denver is a good choice.

What are you looking for in each city? I might be able to help if you described a little more of what you wanted.

The Nashville culture and climate would be more like what you're used to in Virginia. Denver would be quite a different contrast in culture and weather. So if you're looking for change, move to Denver, if you're looking for status quo, move to Nashvhille.

I'd say Denver having been there but never been to TN. Warning - physical therapy/ exercise science majors/grads are dime a dozen in Denver/Boulder.

But what I'll add into mix is CS (colorado springs) - you'll have Denver like weather and culture similar to Virginia Beach in some sense.

If you got into Vandy and can afford it, go there. Its a better school than any of the schools in this area.

The downsides are apparently that Nashville doesn't have an NPR station. Also, Denver has both kinds of music while Nashville has just the one.

I don't know where you people on this board get your NPR information, but it's wrong. WPLN is an AM/FM station. In the 6 years I lived in Nashville, I cannot recall a time where I was unable to listen to NPR.

And, of course, if you're picking a place to live based on who has better radio NPR coverage...all I can say is seriously?

Virginia Beach is not very southern. It's actually more akin to Colorado Springs. Either place you move to will be landlocked. Have you checked out California?
