E Colfax
Where is considered the bad stretch on E. Colfax(drugs,prostitution,etc..)or just seedy and where is the nightclub stretch? I'm looking for street boundaries.

I think some might say it gets worse at like syracuse east until a section of Aurora which seems nice, although the name of that section escapes me. Some might say east of Colorado, but I think that's crazy talk. I don't see any "drugs prostitution, etc." on Colfax. Sure, I might see a few people who look like they've been using in the not too distant past, but no open dealing or anything, if that's what you're talking about.

None of it anymore. Ten or twenty years ago it was different.
Most music venues are west of Colorado starting with the Bluebird and stopping at the Fillmore at Clarkson. I guess there is that hippy place a few blocks further west that has some smaller bands now and then.
Don't miss the opportunity to see a show at the Lion's Lair.

I was just on Colfax like 2 weeks ago. Now I don't doubt that there is probably some crime issues along Colfax, but its really not that seedy looking. And theres alot of foot traffic as well as a bunch of cool stores and restuarants. Yeah theres some liqour stores, but truth be told I see more liqour stores and pawn shops down here in the Springs than up in Denver.

Colfax ranges from seedy to even classy- it's very diverse and different depending on where exactly you are. The "good" part of it is probably anywhere from Federal in the west to Quebec in the east. These parts have a lot of businesses, restaurants, and good neighborhoods, for the most part.
The only part of Colfax itself I would worry about at all is the part of Colfax in North Aurora, as well as the stretch of it near Sun Valley. Together these are about 15 blocks total, so it's not hard to steer well clear of these parts. Colfax is usually safe during the day, and most of it is safe at night. Don't walk on the sidestreets though after about 11 PM.

Well **** I should tell my wife and other folks who have been doing that for over 15 years to stop doing as much.
Seriously. If you don't live in the area, you don't deserve a valid comment.

Ding ding! I live in the area, and there's nothing that happens on my block after 10pm, let alone 11. As someone who doesn't sleep well, I often get up in the middle of the night to read or generally get out of the bed. The neighborhood is dead silent, except when the milk delivery rolls through.
People that think East Colfax in Denver is a dangerous part of town are straight up clueless. There might be some small stretches in Aurora that I wouldn't care to go through, but I wouldn't feel like I would be taking any chances with my life or anything!

Yeah, I live on East Colfax too....Colfax and Colorado. I work nights so I am often out on Colfax all hours of the night and early morning on my nights off. Like any place you have to be aware of who/what is around you but Colfax is not more dangerous then anywhere else.

LOL, the side streets are safer then Colfax itself, which isn't bad, AT ALL! Oie, the bum rap that Colfax takes and hence these questions seem endless. My advice is to park your car and walk it from the Capitol to Colorado Blvd and back. Sure it is old and the full length makes it the longest commercial street in the country, so you will find everything and anything. Unsafe is not one of those things. Denver is a city and crime can happen anywhere anytime.

I work at Colfax and Colorado...I just wouldn't suggest going any further east than Quebec.
