I absolutely agree, masalamomma! That's why I wanted to see if the covenants were enforced or not. Strict covenants are not for everyone, but there are always choices to suit everybody's tastes.

I've read everything I can find, but it all seems to deal with home improvements. Is there another document I'm not finding? For example, HOAs around here are famous for having rules like "your garage door can't be open for more than 15 minutes at a time". Does HR have such a rule?

You're right, I didn't see anything about "conduct." I did see somewhere on one of these threads that a guy said they weren't allowed to leave their garage door open. I haven't found anything official, though.

Not that I leave my door up all day, but the idea of someone cruising around with a stopwatch and fining me for having my door up for half an hour creeps me out. If I'm working in the yard, cleaning the garage, or working on a small project on the workbench, my door's going to be up.

Yeah, I'm not sure how far they would take it on something like that. I would hope some common sense would come into play? Any residents of the area want to comment?
