Living in Boston, our airport is so close to downtown neighborhoods that some days the takeoffs and landing are very annoying. Surprisingly, this doesn't bother some.

If I live in Capitol Hill, would I hear plane major plane noise? I realize your airport is noew further out, but plane noise to me is noticeable even 15 miles from an airport. Is Boulder or Louisville affected?

Would I notice plane noise while watching a Rockies game at Coors Field?

I have OCD regarding plane noise. Even people in expensive condos near Boston are awakened at 5:30 am sometimes, depending on the winds.

Thanks.

Definitely not from DIA -- look on a map and you'll see how far removed DIA is from virtually everything. If you live close to one of the GA airports in the area you might get some noise.

As for Capitol Hill, it not for those who are seeking peace and quiet due to its proximity to nightlife both inside the neighborhood and on neighboring thoroughfares. But plane noise will not be your issue.

There may be a biplane or two circling Coors Field. You know the ones that carry banners behind them - Lucy will you marry me? or 2 for 1 drafts at your neighborhood bar.

Not to the extent of Boston...I mean I don't know of any major city where you won't hear the faintest of plane noise from time to time though...

You should not hear airplanes due to all of the other noise in the capital hill area.

I typically can't hear the planes through all the gunfire. No Capital Hill, Downtown will receive very little aircraft noise.

There's also the local military presence that brings about a few fighter jets as well

Plane noise is music to my ears...it's the barking dogs that will drive you crazy in Denver.
Seems like Coloradan dog owners feel their little pookie-nuts has more rights than their neighbors.

It's funny how people complain about airplane noise over their house, when in 99% of the cases the airport was there LONG before they moved in. Duh, didn't think of that before you bought the house?

I'd rather live on the end of a runway than next door to somebody who loves rap music, but that's my own OCD speaking.

You shouldn't have any problems with noise in the central or southern Denver area since DIA was moved about 25 miles northeast of Denver just to make sure the noise wouldn't be a problem. If the planes do bother you for any reason, you can get even further away from the airport by choosing a western or southern suburb.
