Brighton, Thornton, Public Transit, "The Village"
My family is considering movng from SE Aurora and considering a few areas. One that keeps coming up is the Todd Creek Farms area - we're looking for at least 1 acre of property.
One concern with considering a move to Brighton is our children's education. They are not in school yet - but will be within the next 5 years. Brighton is booming - and I have it in my head that someday they'll be like SE Aurora and/or Parker.
However, I have hear that Brighton schools are struggling with the population shift to the North. Does anyone know what is being done to address this? Does anyone know what is or does Brighton have a plan for increasing demands on their education system?
Any insight is appreciated.

I know a new high school was just built - prairie view - Brighton schools are very over crowded and they are working to address the issues - Todd Creek is a very nice area - beautiful homes! You can look search for Brighton 27J school district to find their web page and see plans and bond issues but this is what I do know from their web page -
Groundbreaking for Middle School #3 was held on April 3. The new Middle School is located adjacent to Prairie View High School at 120th and Peoria. The school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2008.
The District has an elementary school opening the same year near 104th and Highway 2 in the Turnberry subdivision.
This fall, 2007, West Ridge Elementary School will open for new students. West Ridge is located in the western section of the School District at 13102 Monaco Street.
You can also download the PDF document that discusses the community and the role and plans of the school district.

Oh yes -- there are a number of bus routes that go between those areas and Denver, especially in the case of Thornton. Check out RTD's website at http://www.rtd-denver.com/
Park-n-Rides to consider are Wagon Road (located at 120th & Huron), 104th/Washington, Thornton, and "Broadway" -- all these are located in or near Thornton. Brighton residents might use Park-n-Rides at US-85 and Bridge St and SH2/104th Street.
Another place to consider might be Westminster, which has the benefit of the Boulder-bound buses that stop very frequently at its Park-n-Rides along US-36.

Brighton
I was looking at a house on the internet. they say it is in Brighton but it is just above Buffalo run golf course due east of henderson., which makes it way south of Brighton proper. across 76. does anyone have any take on the area there they could share. I'm still in Houston so all my looking is on my computer, hard to get a read on things.

The village in Brighton
Anyone know anything a subdivision in Brighton called the Village? It's just north of the Buffalo Run Golf course across 76 and way south of Brighton proper, a little above Commerce city.
