Lot's of little holes with short galvanized duct segments. It
sure is slowing down morning traffic to the Base with all the
lookie-lous..

Is this the start of rail extension to DIA or are they going to
finally finish the 3rd lane between iliff and 6th street exits?
Anyone know??

As a followup to the OP's question, how is this impacting traffic up to DIA from the southern part of town? I have to drive to the airport next week mid-week at around 8am, coming from I-25. What sort of drive time should I anticipate so I don't miss my flight?

I get on 225 at DTC Parkway, which is three minutes from home. I allow 45 minutes to the airport that time of the morning, and it's always plenty (but I'm an old woman about making flights).

Here's my question: why waste the money to put in a "barrier" if in the moderate future it's just going to get torn up to extend the lightrail to DIA??

Or why that stupid freeway hasn't been widened 10 years ago!

That's also a very good question.
Edit--at least they raised the speed limit between Parker and I-25 though. 55 before was ridiculous.

I-225 between Mississippi Avenue and Parker Road and Parker Road between Belleview Avenue and Chambers Road: This safety improvement project installs three miles of median cable guardrail on I-225 between Mississippi Avenue and Parker Road in order to help prevent crossover accidents. In addition, concrete median barrier will be installed on Parker Road between Belleview Avenue and Chambers Road. This $1.7 million project will begin in June 2009 and is scheduled to be complete in October 2009.

This is retarded!!! Give us a 3rd lane before you waste money on a barrier which will
only be ripped out once the light rail is extended up to DIA. Talk about 1.7 million dollars
wasted. What idiot made this decision??
