That's interesting, but it doesn't mean anything, since it's federal and state law that matters. However, if you are caught with less than 1 oz in CO it is only a misdemeanor with a fine-- not a felony like in other states. Either way, though, it's still illegal.

Nope. The city and county of Denver (not the metro area--Denver is only about 1/7 the size of the total Denver MSA) voters narrowly passed an iniatiative a few years back allowed under an ounze of the evil weed. But under state law it's still illegal and there was recently a report out that marijuana arrests have actually gone up in Denver since the vote. Last year the same group that lobbied the Denver vote put an initative on the statewide ballot allowing under an ounze of pot but it failed convincingly. In fact, Nevada and Arizona both had the same measure on their ballots and Colorado's 'no' vote was larger than either of the other state's.

Denver's not a big pot mecca--it was more like a 'what the hell do I care' kind of a vote. And knowing that really, truly pot would still be illegal makes it easier to cast that sort of a symbolic vote.
