Default Best place to have a few acres around Denver

Hi -

I'm moving to Denver in the next year or so for work, from Chicago. I actually grew up Eastern Oregon, and want to have a couple acres for my kids to roam like I did when growing up, if possible. (In Chicago, a couple acres is impossible to find, unless you want to commute from Indiana). My work will be located in the Cherry Creek area, and I was wondering if there was a location around Denver where one could find a couple acres of land, and still have a decent commute to the Cherry Creek area.

Thanks!

Depending on your price point it is not too difficult to find. Castle Rock, Larkspur and Parker all have homes on 2 to 5 acre lots. You should expect to spend a minimum of $500k to find something decent, but if you want something really nice you should budget $700k. The commute to Cherry Creek from most of these areas will be about 35 to 45 minutes.

You can get much closer. There are homes w/1-3 acre lots in E. Centennial, Foxfield and north Parker. $500k +.
