Being new to the area, it's sometimes a bit difficult to find Specialists.... I have one of these:

http://gallery.darladog.com/d/8484-2/IMG_1594.JPG (broken link)

It's a Tappan PV442 (also know as the Fabulous 400). Obviously it's very different looking, and to me it's a highly desirable piece to keep in my kitchen (working, of course). Right now, the left over and broil are non-operational. I need a specialist that has Experience with this type of unit (or even a Frigidaire Flair, similar range). Heck, of anyone has one of these that works and would be willing to let me come and test a couple things it might get me going enough to fix mine (all non-destructive, just testing with a multi-meter).

The best for me would be if someone wants to sell a working unit, I'll take the whole thing (for a reasonable price).

Thanks,

Brian

It looks very cool. I have never seen one before.

Call all the appliance repair shops and even Xcel has a appliance repair outfit.

Good luck (and post the need for service on craigslist)

Wow, beautiful range.

This may be a silly, simplistic response, but I have to ask. Sears sells Tappan ranges today, have you asked Sears?

Thanks, but ours let the magic smoke out of the wiring (you know that everything "electrical" actually runs on smoke, right? And when you let the smoke out, they don't work anymore.. ) so it went to a scraper. Bummer because I loved the idea of the oven.

Anyway, we remodeled the kitchen so a replacement wouldn't work.

Thanks anyway,

Brian

So sad, but these things do give up the ghost eventually. My parents remodeled their kitchen in 1959, and a couple years ago the wall oven finally had to be replaced.
