Hi. My wife and I are making a quick overnight trip to Denver next week.

We are staying in Aurora close to the town center mall.

How difficult would it be to get taxis 1) to the University of Colorado Hospital 2) then to Denver Health Hospital and 3) back to the hotel? Can we just flag one down or would we need to call for them?

Google maps says it is a 27 mile round trip taking I-225 and I-70. Any idea how much these three rides would cost?

I'm trying figure out if I should just rent a car. SuperShuttle from and to the airport already totals $76 for two.

Thanks!

Get the rental car, essential for getting around and seeing as much as possible during your visit.

Thanks for the response Mike.

We arrive late one evening and leave early the next morning, not much time for sightseeing. All business and no fun.

Still curious about the cab situation in denver/aurora.

Cabs do not cruise the streets for people to hail. You have to call. . .

In fact, I think they are prohibited from picking up people who try (in vain) to flag them.

That wasn't a joke; it's the law.

I agree that you should call a cab instead of trying to hail one in Denver, but is it really illegal? I always hail cabs when I am downtown and if they are empty they pick me up every time.

Well if it's the law; it's still quite a joke.
