Is it possible getting help to polish the resume (IT)
I want to seek to find someone's warmhearted help, to give some suggestions on my husband's resume. The reason that I asked people here, is: first, I have registered my user id for a while and I saw a lot of nice people here, someone share the precious opinion and apparently someone are also very professional expert in IT area ; second, my husband is back and forth with the unemployment situation, just because he can not find the match position, he wants to be either a technical support or system administrator (he is better on windows system, compare with unix). This time, we spent longer (two month) for the waiting after applying the jobs in craig'slist. He sent hundreds of applications until now, but almost no feedbacks. He looks still quite calm with this, but just looks. He is actually a little depressed, and I am still encouraging him, but anyway, I don't know the situation and can't really help him more, since my work is not related with IT.
Thanks in advance for people who would like to help us, or people who want to give some suggestions to us.

I usually look for job openings on Job Search | one search. all jobs. Indeed. It indexes other search sites like monster, dice, etc., so it's usually fairly thorough.
You could also try to find a staffing agency or recruiter --- either of these could possibly help your husband find a position that isn't being advertised, or, could help him find something that is a temp-to-hire. I don't know any specific agencies here in Denver, but I used AppleOne when I lived in California and found a temp-to-perm job through them.

There is a workshop on resume writing at the Boulder Public Library this morning at 10:30. Call 303-441-3100; 1001 Arapahoe Ave. Boulder. It's in this morning's Daily Camera, but I can't bring it up online.

Thanks for the info
Yes, my husband has tried monster, but maybe because he did not update his personal information very often. He receive no news from there.
Your idea about some agency is very useful, we have not try this out yet. We will consider this alternative way. Thank you for sharing!

oops, we missed it.
Thank you very much for the detail about the workshop. We missed this one, Katiana. We were already late when I saw your post. Will they have some other workshop recently or if I check the library website, can I see these kind of information? Thanks again.

I can't answer your questions, but the library probably can. You're welcome.

I searched the website, and found some events in Denver library too. I have not been checking the events in library for a while. Seems like they brought more job hunting events than before. You just reminded me to go back and check those free resources.

One thing he may want to do is refresh his resume at all the sites he has his resume posted at least once a week. My friend who is a recruiter in Tampa said not only do recruiters search skills but they also search for the newest resume.
Example: If a recruiter sees your husbands resume online that was last updated maybe 4 months ago, and my resume shows up in that same search being updated last week, he said he would call me first.
He said that if a profile shows that you last updated your resume months ago, they assume you must have found a job. But if a profile shows it was updated recently they assume that person is still looking for a job.
So I update my resume every other day. It takes me maybe 20 mins out of my day to do so.

Thank you very much and I will let him know about it.
BTW: you did great for updating every other day. Hope you nail down a ideal one. Cheers.
