Default Why do people LOVE the Pinery in Parker??

We are looking at houses in the Pinery subdivision in Parker...it is a great little hidden area that totally reminds us of living in the mountains--great views, lots of trees, and lots of wildlife roaming around. What does everyone think of this area? The prices of homes are very reasonable!! Thanks for any input!

Have you checked out their source of drinking water. Much of Douglas County gets their drinking waster from the Denver Basin aquifier, which is dropping rapidly. It's not going to go dry over night, but the time is coming. Unfortunately, no one can tell how much water is in it and how long it will last. Google; Douglas County ground water supplies and that will get you started. Two years ago the Colorado Real Estate Commission started to require a form from the seller to disclose the source of drinking waster. This was to serve notice to buyers to do their own dilligence on this matter. No one knows the time line, but you could have some huge water bills or heavy use restrictions in ten to twenty years. This would probably put a damper on your resale value.

which identifies part of the problem we've experienced this past decade. not to underplay the significance of a water issue, but future value for something that will be rectified one way or another should really be the least of ones worries considering what its caused us. it's not like you're buying beachfront property on the salton sea here

I think it'a lot cooler, temp wise, to live in the mountains and you get more precipitation in many foothills locations, but it's prob a heck of a lot cheaper down there.

Download Google Earth. The street views are included now so it's pretty cool.

Thanks, Escape California! I tried to give you rep points, but it said I have to spread some around before giving you more. I think I gave you some the other day though...when does that thing reset!?
