Question Brighton

Any comments/thoughts about the Brighton area? We are coming to look at houses and have found some on-line that we like in that area. We would appreciate any good/bad or indifferent opinions about the area. Thanks.

Brighton is in the NE area of the metro area...borders farmland, barr lake, and has a great "real" farmers market. Close the the airport for travel.

Default Not for me

We visited Denver a couple weeks ago to pick out a place to live. Among our trips was one to check out Brighton. Had heard how affordable and friendly it was.

Never got there. 1, the road out of Denver to Brighton is UGLY and never improved. Did not have that "curb appeal." There was little there but what there was felt like abandoned industrial.

2. Not my kind of landscape. If you like absolutely flat, treeless, brown earth than Brighton is on the way. I can see why they put the airport out that way - they probably didn't have to level any ground for the runway.

3. What housing developments we saw (from a distance) were just very large clusters of homes with no trees and no windbreak. For someone from the east coast it was eerie.

Please take that from my perspective. There are lots of folks who love that kind of thing. My in laws love going to the desert every chance they can and I hate the desert.

After we got about 3/4 of the way to Brighton we decided to just turn around.

brown flat land is what the front range is all about. There are hues of pale green mixed in, and essentially barren landscape. It has a beauty all its own, of course. But it's an acquired taste.

Brighton ... WAY WAY out there. Not close to anything, except DIA. So, if being close to DIA is important, then perhaps a reasonable choice. It's an old farming town that IMO would be better off left that way.

Ok I have to disagree - we love the area (we were actually off of 104th ave about halfway between Denver and Brighton) - we built a home in the area near Reunion - beautiful views of the hills in the distance, super fast commute to almost anywhere (much faster then when we actually lived in Denver)

Great family area - most of the new developments are full of young families so very family friendly -

It is close to lots of things... a brand new home depot was just buit, they are building a new king soopers and lots of new schools -

if you dont want to be right in town or this is a good place - its quite and relaxing peaceful, but easy access to everywhere.

I worked for Adams County and Brighton has a beautiful new courthouse and it is only 15 minutes from Denver

We lived 3 minutes from the farmers market and LOVED going every weekend to get fresh fruit and veggies.... Brighton also has a nice new theater and some decent food choices that have gone into the new brighton pavillion square area in town!

People are more friendly and we really enjoyed it! of course the new developments have only small trees as most new construction does, but lots have been planted and we had a BEAUTIFUL green yard with lots of trees... our neighborhood was so well kept up and green and lush so not as "barren" as some would say...

We have since moved and our home in Foxton Villiage is again up for sale as we are booting our renter Its a great area and if we were moving to the area all over again, we would again choose this location! If you want more specifics about the area (schools stores etc just let me know )

Brighton is the fastest growing city in colorado. infrastructure seems to improve daily. friendly people and great new developments. Outsiders very welcome. Schools are not so good. we send our teenagers to private school 18 miles away. elementary schools not so bad, but brighton high is rough.
