I just got home from a weekend in Denver. Driving around, I couldn't believe how green everything was. How long into the year does that last? Is this spring especially green because of all the snow last winter?

It usually gets green early in Spring after the snowmelt starts and we've had a few good rainstorms. How long it lasts varies depending on the temperatures, how hot and dry the Summer gets, how much rain falls. I've seen it be green right thro August.

It really is not unual. The drought of last 6 yrs was the unusual. We are experiencing the normal showers about every afternoon with almost the snow pack that is 100% in some of the mts. Can't give a date it will change. This is Colorado. Wait it will, and when it gets drier in summer and warmer. Things will go more dormant to survive. Hit them with rain or moisture and overnight they will green. So is the way here. But in the higher mt. areas, afternoon drizzles are normal all summer usually

Unfortunately, thats the same time frame I've been here-6 years. In that time, it seems the green thats really nice right now will be dead and brown in 6-8 weeks. Last year it stayed greener longer than in the previous years I've been here. last summer was the first summer I didn't have to fight to keep my lawn green.

I love green.

When it drys up, all the ground cover and brush will be dead/brown. The trees still are green, but dull, not as vibrant.
