I live in Castle Rock and have Qwest DSL and DirecTV. I'm happy with Qwest. My wife and I typically have 2 laptops accessing it at once. Sometimes more than 2.

I love DirecTV. I had several bad experiences with Comcast in other areas of the country and will never use them again. I also need the sports packages that DirecTV offers. I think they have a better HD feed but that is just my subjective opinion.

I think Comcast provides the better internet. I've only used Comcast TV as well, but I drool over the service my in-laws get with Dish. I'd switch but everytime I threaten Comcast lowers me back to an introductory rate.

Right now I pay $80/mo for 'net + basic HD/DVR (1 box) on Comcast. Comcast's selection of HD channels is sorely lacking compared to the competition though (if that matters to you).

I've had DTV in the past, and Comcast now. In my opinion, Comcast is by far the best, but also by far the most expensive. An HD-DVR and On-Demand are must haves for me.

EDIT: This just reminded me that I hadn't called Comcast to threaten to leave in a while. Just did, and reduced my bill by over $50. Gotta play the game!

Why do you like Comcast over DTV? Is it just the On-Demand?

I have DirectTV but would not recommend them. The quality is good and the signal has never been down, even in heavy snow. My only complaint is their pricing structure. Everyone offers great rates to get you to sign up, but come renewal time you are told you are not eligible for ANY of the dozen or so deals they have going on. Once you are an existing customer, you must pay full retail at renewal time. In order to get better pricing, you must stop being their customer for a period of time. They treat their service as if it the only option of its kind in the market. I'm not sure what kind of logic is behind this business model but they are losing a lot of customers because of it. Comcast is not available where we live so we will be switching to DISH in the next month or so. Its on my list, I just have not had time to deal with it.

Something else I have noticed, especially watching Broncos games, is that their picture is somewhat blurry. If I'm watching a game on FOX on DirectTv, the picture is not very crisp. If I switch over to FOX on my "off the air" antennae, the picture is substantially clearer. Since both are leaving the source at the same resolution, I'm guessing DirectTv is manipulating the signal somehow. I'm not sure if this is a ploy to get you to upgrade to their HD packages, but it is worth mentioning.

My recommendation is to question each company you are considering as to their pricing policies once you have finished your 12 month "teaser rate" contract.
