Hi,
We're looking for a recommendation on a preschool in the Highlands Ranch area. Need something with low turnover of teachers, engaging for the kids, and not just a "babysitting" service.

Of course specific ones to avoid wouldn't hurt either.

thanks

Look at the programs at HRCA, DCSD, or even something close to home or work.

All of the elementary schools have half day preschool classes. My son attended Redstone elementary last year and he loved preschool there!

I just moved here last week. I'm also looking for a preschool. I'm waiting to hear back from the preschools in the rec center and I am looking into some in the elementary schools. Saddle Ranch, Coyote Creek, Copper Mesa. Anyone have any insight into any of these programs? or can you suggest another school?

Thanks!

All the elementary schools that offer preschool are a good bet. However, we moved our kids from public preschool to Christ Lutheran preschool and are much happier with both the staff and the activities. Our kids like it more too. The public preschool seemed to concentrate on the special needs kids at the expense of other kids. We were also disappointed in the activities at the public school. One example: too many one-dimensional coloring pages "projects" and not enough actual arts and crafts projects. The holiday projects were really disappointing and not very creative - more coloring pages torn out of a book instead the kids actually trying to create something.

We are very happy with Christ Lutheran and have heard good things about the church preschool next door as well. We actually are a non-Christian faith (and very casually so) so occasionally we are not on the same page as the school but at the end of the day feel like the overall experience is very positive.

Christ Lutheran and some of the other church preschools are very competitive on price and we liked their schedules more than the public schools.

My son goes to St. Luke's Little school located at St Luke's UMC in Highlands Ranch. It is a Christian preschool (which is important to us), however there are many non religious families there that love it too. The teacher turnover is very low and the classroom sizes are small (my son has 2 teachers and there are 10 kids). I have been amazed with how he has thrives at this school. Honestly, I can't say enough positive things about it!
