I'm a student at the University of Illinois-Chicago who is currently doing research on urban politics in Denver. Since 1961, every governor has been a Democrat, which makes the city a rare exception to the rise in conservatism in the second half of the last century. The reason I'm posting here is because I'm hoping to find more information about what changes occurred in Denver since 1950. If you can point me to sites, articles, books where I can learn about social, economic, political, or any other developments in the city, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Did you mean to say "every governor" as I think you meant every mayor.

And if s/he did mean mayor, and is doing research on urban politics in Denver, s/he should be aware that Denver mayor does not run as a democrat or republican, etc.

Denver mayor is a non-partisan elected office. Denver does not have a mayor elected as a democrat, or republican, or supported by any other particular party. (That doesn't mean the mayor can not belong to a political party, but the election is not conducted as democrat v. republican v. any other political party.)

I don't think this is a "homework help" site. You could do a search here to find out what's already been said, but we're not a political group, on this forum.

I DID mean mayor, actually. Sorry about the typo, there. I've been in the Chicago forum on here and just thought I might be able to get some good tips from people in this forum. In regards to the Republican/Democrat thing... Those are the parties the mayors have identified with. What's really importance is liberalism and conservatism, which I'm using the party identity/membership to measure.

Also, I realize this isn't a "homework help" site. I'm not trying to start a political debate among the users. Really, I'm more interested in Denver's recent history. This forum just seemed like it would have people who could give me tips on where I could learn about the city.
