Hello everyone. I'm posting here because I have a friend in the Denver area who has not had much luck in his career hunt. He loves the Denver area and desperately wants to stay, however if he doesn't find a job soon he will have no other choice than to go back home.

In the next couple weeks he is graduating from Metro State. He majored in History with a minor in Geography and is currently working on his GIS Certification. He is looking for jobs such as...

- Resource management
- History archiving
- Environmental sector
- Mapping

And of course, he is open to any suggestions along those general lines. He's extremely motivated to get hired as it's his only chance to stay in Denver. Feel free to post or pm me with any suggestions of questions.

Thanks in advance everyone!

I'm a GIS Analyst and it's probably one field that hasn't been as severely affected by the recession as other fields, at least here in Denver. I'd try these resources for GIS-related jobs:

The GIS Jobs Clearinghouse (national, but they do list jobs in Denver from time to time)

Job Search | one search. all jobs. Indeed® (I always recommend this one because it indexes a lot of the other job searching websites)

GIS Colorado (http://www.giscolorado.com/ - broken link) (subscribe to their mailing list because sometimes members will post a 'heads up' about an opening or upcoming opening)

It also might help to join a site like LinkedIn?

Thanks Cowboy. He just started the GIS thing and I don't think he finishes until 2012 or something like that, but I'll pass it along to him.
