If my wife and I are moving to Des Moines around 10/1/12 (so, 1 year 2 months from now). When should I start looking into work?

I have a feeiling it won't be too hard to find. Des Moines is the Hartford of the west. And I am a banker with 9 years experience.

So I don;t see why I wouldn't get hired.

I have a new co-worker who's spouse is in the financial industry. It took her about 4-5 months to end up landing a job that was a fit, and to get through the time backlog of the candidate selection and interview process. You probably would want to get started soon.

Nationwide, Principal, Aviva, Wells Fargo and Marsh are the biggies, but there's plenty of mid-sized and small companies here too.

I actually have an IN at Shazam, so that is a possibility.

Default whenever

whenever you want to find jobs.. it's up to you, before or after you move... depends on your needs to pay bills and for the house you'll be living at.

I'm not moving without a job. I am not one of those people that could do that.
