Almost everyone you meet in Des Moines metro are native Iowans, unless they are from Mexico or maybe Bosnia, occasionally SE Asia.

I've also never seen so many states with "native" bumper stickers. The people of Iowa like living in the corn bubble.

Simply untrue. Probably 25% of the new residents moving into the little town I live in north of Des Moines near Ames are from out of state. I am a municipal employee who deals with new water applications, building permits and economic development.

Yeah, it makes sense 1/4 of everyone moving into Huxley or Maxwell is from out-of-state (if people move there in the first place) Maybe from northern Missouri.

You'll probably say they're from all over the place.

Wouldn't be surprising in those small-towns.

Did you know there is a dog breed that is very common in Des Moines, spcecifically the east and north sides?

It's the lower right pic.

I laughed at that harder than I should have.

Most of you simply can't handle that parts of Des Moines are known for a meth problem. It infuriates you so much you start acting like babies over it. Iowan mentality is also very frivolous.

Can only be dealt with via turning it into a joke. No different than how Hispanic culture treats gays. Watch Univision around 7pm to see what I mean. Hispanic humor is completely centered around men in drag, or effeminate men acting like Richard Simmons.

This is because it's simply something they cannot handle (and are not ready to have the discussion) and have to deal with in this way. No different than the meth stereotype that exists in Iowa. People can't handle it, turn it into a joke.
