I don't think rabbit ears work anymore. You need an HD antenna

I just got back from Germany, and for my lap-top I used a device called a 1&1 surf stick for 20 euro a month. You plug it in your usb port and it picks up the towers.
Does anyone know if we have such a thing like this here in the states?
Also, I moved from Des moines to just outside of Branson Mo. and looking for a cheap provider.

Thanks for the responses! I tried doing a search online to find internet providers in WDM, but none of them recognize my house (it's still being built). Anyone in WDM or nearby able to give me some guidance here? If I'm going to be streaming movies, I know I'm going to need good, high-speed internet access.

You can get digital rabbit ears as well as rooftop antennae.

I've got digital rabbit ears:

GE Millennium TV Antenna : Target

I'm sure these are available at Walmart, etc., as well.

Wow. I had no idea they still made them like that, but of course they are not rabbit ear shaped anymore.

Mine is like this. I prefer this shape

Amazon.com : RCA ANT1650F Flat Digital Amplified Indoor TV Antenna : Video Antennas : Electronics

I appreciate the info on digital "rabbit ears", and will look into getting them for our new place. Can you get cable channels like HGTV and Food Network with these?

Also, I still need to know: where do I go for good internet service in WDM?

No you cannot get cable channels with a digital antenna.

I use CenturyLink for my DSL service. No complaints.

Thanks, ElleTea -- that's what I needed to know! I can get those channels online, so the combo of internet and the digital antenna along with Netflix or something similar should do the trick.

You can get some cable channels online, but they are usually very limited as to what they show. For instance, AMC doesn't show current episodes of The Walking Dead or MadMen.

I really miss having TV service and plan to get it again once I move.
