Ok then..
Before you leave & as you travel west, keep your eye on the weather via the weather channel online @ www.weather.com.
You can plan your exact route ahead of time of course but keep in mind the possiblity of changing it or making a detour depending on what develops weatherwise ahead of you as you travel.
I've known cross country travelers to detour far off course to hook up with an interstate route that avoids an incoming storm.

A cool thing you can do on TWC site is track your trip, getting weather all along your route.

I am specifically not going through Flagstaff, that area tends to me dicey this time of year.

I actually saw one on a car I was following on the way to work a few weeks ago, but I haven't been online much lately and forgot about it before I had a chance to mention it here.

Being from Illinois originally, it felt like the driver of the car was making a personal statement of condemnation against me and I had a hard time keeping my anger under control and suppressing my desire to run him of the road. I also felt an overwhelming sense of sadness and frustration as I am ineligible to display one of these medallions of superiority on my own vehicle. Fortunately my insurance covers therapy that will (hopefully) help me deal with these feelings. In the meantime I'm self-prescribing Prozac to make life tolerable.

I'm just glad I don't live in West Des Moines where every single vehicle has one of these decals.

Can't you get a "Not a native and proud of it" sticker?

I've discovered a "work-around." Since my UHIC-born daughter is usually with me when I drive my truck, I can put a "native" sticker on that vehicle.

Now that I've averted that crisis I can use my flex spending money for contact lenses.

Duster!

I was looking at the snow clouds on the radar. Elle better take the southern route. Then again, she might be taking enough people with her to keep the freeway ahead of her vehicle plowed. LOL!
