I am temporarily moving to Ames for work from either July-Nov or May-Nov. I am having a really hard time find housing since everything is a school-year lease. Does anyone know of a place or person looking to rent short-term for that period?
The only place I have found so far that is willing to rent for that period is Crystal Cove. Does anyone know about this complex or the area it is in? I cant find any reviews online.

For background, I have 23 and a recent college grad.

Thanks!

I lived in West Towne apts (Haverkamp Properties) during my last semester at Iowa State, as I was leaving for internship in December and didn't want a full lease anywhere. They did month-to-month studios and I think 1-beds. The studio was fairly big and spacious. All of the kitchen appliances lined one wall and I had room for a couch + coffee table + TV in the "living area", a small circular dining table (for four, so I could have people over), and the sleeping area was tucked in the back, with a bed, dresser, and portable hanging rack. Bathroom was big with a stall shower and washer/dryer.

At the time there was a cafe, a few shops, and a sports bar all within walking distance. Quick access to Hwy 30 and serviced by the CyRide bus system to get you to campus, downtown, or anywhere else the bus goes. There were a fair number of upperclassmen living in the area but I never had noise issues.

This was 6 years ago so I'm not sure if they still do monthly leases or what the area is like, but it was developing rapidly (along w/ Somerset) when I was there.
