While I'm not a fan of it being an assembly plant, it's good news for the city! I would prefer to see Detroit rebuilt into a white collar center so the city can get back younger folks instead of trying to revive it's blue collar image.

Being a design engineer in the metro area I think this is a great idea. Personally I think if they actually have the plant in detroit and not how GM and such is on the out skirts, it will bring many home buyers in with the jobs and many smaller businesses such as resturants and office supply stores to the downtown area. There is plenty of areas in detroit where this plant would fit just by mowing down some more burnt down houses and older plants. With the usage of detroit being so very low, bringing the industrial age back to MoTown would be a great idea for Michigans economy. Just my opinion, like to see what others say.

Any idea where it will be located? Yeah, it would be great if they could tear down one or more of the abandoned factories in the process.
