We'll be moving to Michigan shortly and I'm torn between these 2 schools. Both have good ratings on greatschools.net.
I was wondering if anyone has personal opinions or experiences with either. Without growing up there or knowing anything about the area I'm trying to find out what "mindsets" people have about these schools. Thanks for any help!! |

they are both great schools with moderate-to highly wealth families at both. They are very similar in many ways, however Stoney Creek is much newer and more modern. It has all the new technology, that Adams does not. Adams probably has a snooties kids at the school, just because it draws from a wealthier area than Stoney Creek. but Rochester Hills is a wealthy, white, city and both schools are very good.
Neither school has an advantage over the other in terms of getting students into a better college. Your kids will probably go to MSU. or UofM if they do well. If they are so-so students, they might go to Western or Central. |

I actually went to Rochester Adams for all 4 years. Graduated in 97 before they even put the new additions onto the school. It was a great school to go to. The area is great, safe. I lived in Rochester Hills (walking distance to the school) for about 18 years until my recent move to Tampa. I know nothing about Stoney Creek? you say? But I can definitely speak for Adams High. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Hving grown up there most of my life, I am definitely an expert in this area.

I'm an Adams class salutatorian from several years ago. A few teachers migrated from Adams to Stoney Creek. I dislike the layout of the 'new' Stoney Creek high school, but otherwise it's the same crowd. Both high schools are somewhat better than RHS (where both my cousins are currently students) and are core feeders schools for UM (Go Blue) and MSU.
