I Lived In Lower East side Detroit for 30yrs. and
My favorite thing to do was go eat, drink in Greektown on Monroe, however; lately the fav thing to do is DODGE THE BEGGERS, PANHANDLERS, that accost you ...when the crackheads are not trying to polish your knob for $3, then there is the race to your car;hoping its still there marathon. Along with the ''dont look the guy with the 'cardboard necklace' square in the eyes; he will stab you...make sure he works a full day out there by the Eight mile freeway viaduct, he *needs the money* for what? If he is healthy enough to stand out ther begging; why cant he go toss papers, sweep up something, clean something for wages? duh. Detroit wore me down; and now its strictly for the Tourists that 'come to visit' ....wouldn't wanna live there. Kwame (esteemed Mayor) made sure he f***ed all of us property owners real good.

Oh, forgot to mention that the only time the City would mow the grass or weeds on city property? Was when 'company was coming' to town for the GrandPrix, Fireworks, Boat races, etc. Gotta make it look nice for 'da white folks ya know! The City passed out tickets to property owners for the slightest infraction of 'branch blocking streetlamp"...costing $130, But they didn't cut weeds or grass or clean the broken wine bottle, syringes & crackpipes outta the City Neighborhood Parks so the kids could play somewhere; so they hang out on the corners instead. No wonder there is so much crime & poverty. City council, school boarad member get chauffered to mtgs...while the kids get raped, mugged and shot at the bus stops trying to go to the schools in those neighborhoods they get funds to 'improve' but they buy SUVs take trips to the Bahamas, etc. enough yet? Its all true; I'm just sorry I didn't move outta there 10 yrs ago!!! Let them have it!!! MoTown? ...more like Woe is me Town....BrokeTown, Hoe-Town, Smoke-Town, Toke Town. Even the Detroit Zoo is going broke; animals shaking tin cups for feed, monkey chow & kibble.
The playground equipment, swings, food, supplies that were missing from the School warehouses? caught on camera Fox News TV, being sold out of City Emmployee's car trunk.....its rampant, not just average!

When I was on midnights, I used to like too shoot the rats in the alley behind the restaurants on Monroe with a pellet gun. I felt like I was doing my part to make sure they didn't carry any small children away to their underground lairs like giant, furry Phantoms of the Opera. So, I'm going to vote for Greektown!
