There has been ongoing rumors that after Comerica Bank leaves Detroit, the original plan to have the One Detroit Center (Comerica Tower) to have a twin (Two Detroit Center) and also that the area between the Comerica Tower and Ren-Cen will be home to a new arch (supposely remodeled after St. Louis's Gateway Arch or some Free Standing Tower such as the Space Needle or something in that nature). Does anyone have any information about these rumors and does anyone think this is a good idea? I mean it would help beautifie our skyline and add money to our central business district....

Why would they build another speculative office tower when Comerica is vacating the first tower?
Obviously if there is need for office space downtown, by all means new skyscrapers should be built. As far as a St. Louis style arch, ehhh. I'd have to see it. |
