Some people just don't get it.

But that's okay.

My boyfriend was let go from his construction job a little over a month ago along with 5 other men. Now the construction site is FILLED with illegal aliens. Hispanics and Brazilians and they are not here LEGALLY. How do I know? Hm, they will open up to any of their kind = me (though I am not Hispanic, I lived in Brazil for several years).

Called ICE. Now are they going to do anything about it?!

It is driving me crazy because we are going to become parents in 3 weeks and we can barely put food on the table. I go to work every single day against Doctor's Orders because otherwise we would not eat or have a place to live.

I am SICK OF THIS CRAP. I am a citizen of this country, we are both Army Veterans and we have paid taxes ever since we were teenagers.

And this is the BS we have to deal with!!!

You bet I am bitter and I am upset because these freeloaders come here, have 5 children, work under the table and get a free ride from taxpayers... yet millions of Americans like myself can barely make ends meet.

I wouldn't blame Illegal immigrants for the problems you have. Around here they've fixed up bad Urban Neighborhoods and have balanced the economy. Alot people to save $$$ , go and pick up illegals and pay them to landscape there properties. Some are freeloaders , but most actually do pay for services like Internet , Phone , some Taxes , and Transit or car Insurance... English is a very Hard Language to learn , it also varies region to region or Country to country so requiring people to learn English is unfair. They should be required to add something into the local Economy... Whats with all the Army Veterans thinking they run the country recently , that really annoys me..... If you don't like this country ,move to Canada or Aussieland... There are 11 Million + Illegals , it would be impossible to throw all of them out , A path towards citizenship is a very good idea. MI , doesn't have a Hispanic illegal problem , but an Illegal Arab issue.

Oh no? Illegal aliens are such innocent people!

The people who are hiring them are committing a FELONY. Please learn the law. It is a crime to EMPLOY people who are NOT authorized to work in this country.

They pay car insurance? I didn't know illegal aliens were able to apply for insurance. Legal residents YES but illegal aliens?!

English is a very hard English to learn? Since when?

I was born in the US but lived abroad from the time I was 5 til I was 18. I learned English ON MY OWN because my dad's parents (whom I lived with) did not speak the language at all. I learned it by watching TV and reading magazines pretty much. It took me months. Yes, MONTHS...in a country where English was not even spoken to begin with.

My dad came here the LEGAL WAY, thanks. He assimilated, learned the language and made this country his country.

I don't feel entitled to anything because I have served. I just find it outrageous that people like you would actually support people who broke the law by coming here illegally and at the same time look down on those who actually contributed something to this country. No, I am not moving. I have more right to be here than these folks who jump over the fence and the ones who overstay visas.

Before I leave, Illegal aliens are the #1 recipient for WELFARE services in this country.

So I suggest you do some research, learn about the laws and educate yourself before you decide to side with criminals.

And no, amnesty is not the answer. Would you reward someone for robbing a bank, stealing a car? I don't think so or maybe you would. You seem to be in favor of illegal activity in this country so I wouldn't be surprised.

Maybe you should tell the folks who live down south in Arizona, California and Texas that illegal aliens are not a big deal. You'll see what they have to say to you.

Yes, we do have an Hispanic illegal problem. There are 100,000 - 200,000 illegals in this state and it's growing day-by-day. Yes, we happen to have the largest legal Arab population in the country and they are not taking these jobs. Most Arabs here have their own businesses, mostly stores and gas stations and they take care of their own. Unlike, the illegal Hispanics that are taking the remaining jobs.

I know that's not proof, but I'd bet you they are.

FYI -- There are around 100,000 to 200,000 illegals now in Michigan.

They could be H2B workers, temporary/seasonal workers... speaking English is not a requirement to be a temporary worker.

Much of southwest Detroit is about 2/3 hispanic, mostly Mexican. Pontiac is about 15% hispanic (mostly Mexican, but maybe some Puerto Rican as well). While metro Detroit doesn't have a large hispanic/Mexican population compared Calfornia, southwest, and chicago, it is larger than most people realize.

And people are likely to speak their native language, if they are onyl legal residents on a work visa. Full fledged citizenship however requires more.

True. I've noticed lately though that population has grown tremendously in the past few years. Grand Rapids is now mostly Hispanic.

Just from speaking with others on the internet, the trailer parks around here are filling up with them.

Although, I feel sorry for the children, as they had no choice, it is their parents that put them in this predicament to begin with.

With all the millions of citizens unemployed in this country, it is wrong to be giving out work visas.

There are also many H1B visas here also. Most are taking away from the citizens in that category too. I know because I am an IT worker and see it all the time.
