university district, palmer, hubbard farms... honestly since theres so many burned homes everywhere, just by a house with empty lots nearby, buy thoses too and put up a fence, instant privats park.

This response doesn't seem to make sense in context of the thread or my response to the show. Were they on the show? You name a couple communities. Is that the extent of your knowledge of this side of town? Personally I'd never want to live in those neighborhoods. Then again, most who live over here don't think of the name of the community as they are usually seen on deeds and little else. And the burned homes and empty lots can be found. Personally I couldn't tell you where one was off the top of my head. So no private park for me. Please do better next time.

Wow, another new episode in Metro Detroit was on Tuesday night, this time it was a middle-aged divorcee looking for a home in Farmington. Very well done, made the area look extremely desirable. Like I said, there must be someone at HGTV who is either from the area and wants America to see that the Detroit Metro has many good things to offer, or someone who has visited here and was impressed with how much better it is than the national stereotype. How else can you explain that there have been no fewer than four very complimentary new episodes in the Detroit area in the past year or so, when most cities don't even get one? For example, we watch "House Hunters" pretty much every night, and I have yet to see an episode in Columbus, OH or Indianapolis, IN. The only cities that get as many episodes as Detroit has been getting are Chicago, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. Even LA isn't represented very often anymore. Whatever the reason, HGTV is doing the Detroit Metro a great service by providing free, positive PR. Thanks, HGTV!
