Default Wayne County court records--help!

Can you navigate your way through the WC court system?

I have tried everything I can think of, and cannot get through the maze online OR on the phone!

I need a copy of a will I was named in (now settled) that went through probate in Wayne County. All online links end with pages timing out, and phone calls end with meaningless messages ("Thanks for your call!" grrrr) that do not help at all.

I don't want to have to pay an atty. for what (seems like) should be a very simple transaction.

Your help would be very appreciated!

ARRRRRGH!

I had the same problem, years ago. My parent's will was filed in Wayne County. every time I called, I got transferred to Wells, instead of Wills. I did have an attorney, he gave up, too.

I don't know how complicated your situation is, but my attorney's advice was to simply probate the estate intestate, that is, no will was left. We simply all signed an affidavift that no will was obtainable, and we didn't know of the existence of any will. Look if we couldn't find it, how in blazes could anyone else? Besides, it was very simple, and I was the only "hier" anyways.

You only need a will if the estate is coplicated, involves multiple heirs, minor children, etc. Otherwise, if its in Wayne County, consider it lost!

Good luck!

Oh, I didn't read, the will was already probated, so you can't very well claim ignorance of its existence.

perhaps you could go through the state of Michigan, through their dept of records, etc? That's how I got my parents death certificates. They were registered in macomb county, then somehow got transferred to Wayne county, then, somehow ended up in Michigan Dept of vital records. YOu have a better chance that way!

Still, if ever asked if your will was probated, simply check "no will---died intestate" if you can't locate it, how in blazes can anyone else? unless someone is contesting it, etc. My "inheritance was simple, anyways, and really didn't even need a will. It was two bank accounts, I was joint on one, POD (payable on death) on another. the only thing I needed the will for was some property, but that got settled via intestate, anyways.

You will never get anything with Wayne County
