Here's a story in the Detroit Free Press that tells about how a dilapidated, poverty-stricken neighborhood in the city of Detroit will be completely redeveloped: FROM VACANT TO VITAL: Detroit neighborhood will get 3,000 homes (http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070805/BUSINESS04/708050505 - broken link) I believe that if the city can continue to see developments like this, it can soon recover. It will take a lot of time, money and effort, but I'm certain that Detroit will rebound and once again be a world-class city.

I drive Alter almost once a month and I haven't seen any new houses going up, They had that run there a year ago or so and now it doesn't show any signs of building going on.
