Which of my posts were false? I could say the same about your posts. I believe you told someone that Corktown was a good place to raise a family. Would you let your 10 year-old ride his bike around the block anywhere in southwest Detroit after dark? Where do your kids go to school, by the way? And how about telling us about all the terrible things happening to black people in Livonia that you alluded to, speaking of negativity.

Have you ever truly spend more then just a a few games for the tigers and red wings.

We've been through this before. I lived in the city for over 10 years. Was married at Ste. Annes and left when my wife was pregnant with our first child. That was after several burglaries and several more attempts, two of which took place while I was home. Warrendale is a better neighborhood than Corktown and has been for the last 50 years at least. I haven't been to a baseball game since Mayor Illitch started raping the customers on everything from concessions to parking at the new stadium. I'm more likely to be found at Baker's, Cliff Bell's, Nancy Whisky, The Stone House or Bert's when I venture into the city after dark, and you can bet I'm armed when I go. I lived in the REAL city of Detroit, not the smoke and mirrors of downtown, where there was a cop on every corner of Beaubien and Randolph to protect the people from the suburbs. It makes the news when a paying suburbanite is robbed in Greektown. It doesn't make the news when a tax-paying Detroiter in Warrandale is robbed and the police response time is measured in hours, not minutes.
The city just paid out over $8 Million because the mayor is a thug. That's not a sign of a city that's getting its act together.
I was at Telway's the day after they were robbed by a guy with a shotgun while there was a police car parked two blocks away. After the 911 call, the police showed up 2 hours later.....to an armed robbery in progress of a business that had been there for at least 60 years. It wasn't the cops' fault, but it's also indicative of a city that's not trying to get its act together. Go ahead, drop by Telways at 3:00am and ask them about it. If I'm lying I'm moving into Detroit again. Wanna talk about the federal consent decree and how much progress has been made by the city that's getting its act together?
How about this one...no one ever offered ME a tax break:
Police look into tax exemptions
The emporer isn't wearing any clothes.
Your post is a perfect example of why Detroit is not going to make any progress in attracting the kind of people it needs to attract to make any kind of progress. There are too many people in denial who play the martyr anytime a realistic assessment of the city and its problems is offered.
Detroit Schools are a disaster. So how does the city "get its act together" in addressing a desparate need for educational options in the city? Remember Bob Thompson, the retiring road-building king? THAT'S how Detroit responds to someone who has something to offer other than another 2 million cubic feet per minute of smoke and another million square feet of mirrors.

Please don't look At livonia. There have been numerous incidents against blacks there, and its not getting any better. I try to avoid that place as much as possible. Its the Whitiest city in the country. Why don't you look at The Villages in Detroit, or Indian Village on East Jefferson a very very beautiful and Historic area.

Yeah, that white on black crime in Livonia is rampant. Care to post any stats, or do I have to....again? You know why more and more black folks are moving to Livonia, Canton, etc??? Because for SOME reason, they'd rather live there than in Detroit, all those white folks notwithstanding. They must know something you don't know huh?
Here's what $250,000.00 gets you in Livonia. 2100 square foot, 3 BR, 2 and a half baths and Livonia public schools...probably a 90% plus "go to college" rate at Stephenson High.

Here's what $250,000.00 gets the family with kids downtown. An 1100 square foot loft on the 4th floor, with Detroit Public Schools. How many kids go to college from that school system. Heck, I think maybe 50% graduate from high school, and maybe half of those can even read!

Yeah, those dummies with kids who move to Livonia gotta have a screw loose. But hey, you could always send your kids to U of D. They can take the Woodward bus there from downtown. I think tuition is only about $8-10,000.00 per year.
